5 A Little Accident

A Little Accident

A young lad is sitting at his school desk in deep concentration when it happens. He has a little accident. There on the floor is a little puddle and the front of his trousers are wet. His whole world falls apart, how could this have happened? He will be the butt of jokes forever. He will be called names; life will never be the same.

When the girls here about it he will be ignored forever. He is in a state of utter despair. He just does not know what to do. He is all alone. He looks up and he sees the teacher heading his way. She seems to have a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.

Just at that moment, a classmate called Susan is walking up between the desk carrying a vase of flowers she is going to place on the window sill. Just before the teacher draws level with the boy Susan trips and pours the vase of water all over his lap.

The boy jumps up and pretends to be upset and angry all the time saying to himself, thank you, thank you.

Now instead of being the object of ridicule, he is the object of great sympathy. The teacher takes him to the PE department, and they sort out a pair of shorts for him to wear until his trousers have dried on the radiator.

When he returns to the class the other students are busy drying the floor and cleaning up Susan's mess. Susan tries to help but is told to keep out of the way she is told she has done enough trouble for one day.

At the end of the day, as he heads home, he sees Susan with some of her friends. He catches up with her and whispers to her, "You did that on purpose, did you not?"

Susan whispers back, "I wet my pants once." A true and loyal friend.
